Meet Dr. Cari Alvarez
Hi! I’m Dr. Cari Alvarez, a bilingual child psychologist specializing in the assessment and diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental concerns, including ADHD and specific learning disabilities.
My top priority is to provide you with the answers you’re seeking and to connect you with the resources that will empower your child.
My other clinical and research focus is Behavioral Parent Training (BPT) or Parent Management Training (PMT). PMT focuses on helping parents manage challenging behaviors such as tantrums, meltdowns, and difficulties following directions. I also support parents in guiding children with ADHD, autism, or other social-emotional challenges.

My Credentials
I received my bachelor’s degree from Portland State University and earned a master’s degree from Florida International University. My Doctoral training in Clinical Counseling Psychology was completed through Utah State University and my pediatric residency is through the University of Miami’s Miller school of Medicine.
I started my career as a school teacher and have worked in hospitals, schools, community clinics, and nonprofit organizations.
I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Florida (License #PY12346)
